EMA Partners International
Toronto
For Immediate Release —

The managing partners of EMA Partners International recently held their Annual Global Meeting in Zurich. They gathered to review the results achieved over 2016, and to re-set the strategy to guide the organisation through the challenging year ahead. While global economic headwinds had constrained growth in most regions, it was pleasing to note that most offices reported an improved business climate compared to the previous year. While once again the greatest demand came from within the consumer services, retail and financial services sectors, it was interesting to note that the majority of new clients acquired are mid-sized, operating in regional and international markets.

The forecast for 2016 includes a substantial contribution from the high-tech, innovation sectors, where traditional business lines are blurring as companies attempt to serve their customers with non-traditional offerings. For example, banks are providing cell phone contracts and tablet computers, and consumer companies are hiring user-experience (‘UX’) designers and consultants, in an effort to design products and services that perform as the users want them to.

Attendance at the Zurich meeting was as usual very good, with representation from offices in The Americas, Asia, Europe and Africa. Three new offices – The Netherlands, Chile and Panama – were added to the organisation this year.

Chris Hardy was re-elected Global Chairman of EMA Partners International. In his address to the partners, he said “Our organisation, the executive search industry and global business generally is today operating in a VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous) environment, where technology has dramatically changed the world we live in and the speed at which we live, but people haven’t changed. We must help our clients to creatively deal with the perennial shortage of executive talent, by guiding them towards more innovative talent solutions that actually fit their changing business needs.”
